WEISSENHOF NEW GROUND, Stuttgart I GER
Located within the historic Weissenhof district — a landmark of modernist experimentation — the project reimagines a key urban site through the lens of continuity and renewal. It proposes a new cultural and educational platform that connects the legacy of early 20th-century innovation with a contemporary vision of openness and community.
The design establishes a new ground plane that unites the existing buildings with the public realm. A series of sculpted volumes and generous thresholds blur the boundary between interior and exterior, creating spaces for gathering, learning, and exchange.
The intervention respects the historical fabric while reinterpreting its spatial principles: clarity, light, and structural honesty.
Through the integration of green roofs, courtyards, and permeable circulation, the project transforms the site into a living campus — one that celebrates both heritage and experimentation.
Weissenhof New Ground positions itself as a dialogue between past and future, reactivating the spirit of modernism as a platform for collective experience.
